Follow this recipe to create a delightful coconut dream that will impress your friends and family.

Instructions:

For the cake:

Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Grease and flour two round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mixes, vegetable oil, eggs, coconut milk, and water. Mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.

In a separate bowl, prepare the coconut mixture by combining the thawed Birds Eye frozen coconut with 1 cup of well-mixed cream of coconut. Stir until evenly distributed.

Pour half of the cake batter into one prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle half of the coconut mixture over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and coconut mixture in the second cake pan.

Bake the cakes according to the instructions on the cake mix box or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the frosting:

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.

Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add 1/2 cup of cream of coconut to the frosting and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

Assembly:

Once the cakes have cooled completely, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top.

Place the second cake layer on top of the frosted layer. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

Sprinkle sweetened coconut flakes generously over the frosting, pressing gently to adhere.

Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.

Serve a slice of this Traditional Coconut Cake with a Twist and savor the moist and coconutty goodness. The combination of coconut milk, cream of coconut, and frozen coconut creates a truly tropical experience. Whether for a special occasion or a delightful dessert, this cake will surely impress and transport you to a coconut paradise. Enjoy the taste of the tropics with this delectable coconut dream!
